These Compact Ring – Torsion Load Cells provide high accuracy even for very small utilization ranges. The high output signal provides a high resolution of useful signal range. The design is sturdy with minimal effect on accuracy by side forces. These cells will operate under very harsh environmental conditions. Several mounting structures are available to suit most applications.

Low profile cells (LPC) can be used in compression and tension. Robust tool steel construction.

They are used as a mounting unit with integrated bumper check and hold-down in all kinds of industrial scales, e.g. hopper and silo scales, container and mixer scales.

Construction

Positioning of the compact mount is realized by shifting it in the receiving structure. The play of the bumper check and the hold-down can be adjusted with set screws. Play can easily be set and checked even if the local situation is tight. The height is adapted by using shims (max. 5 mm). For fixing the mount, it is either screwed or fastened to the structure.

Application

Pendulum mounts VPN are specially designed for use with compact load cells of the RTN type. They are used where long life and highest measuring accuracy are required in severe environments. Typical applications are road weighbridges and hopper scales.

Construction

A complete VPN self-aligning mount consists of the pendulum contact plate, a pressure plate, the centering piece and height adjustment shims. The load cell can be mounted on supporting structures or on an optional foot plate. On rough ground, the foot plate provides optimum mounting surface.

Functions

The weight force to be measured is applied to the pendulum contact plate via the pressure plate down to the load cell. The pendulum contact plate protects the load cell from interfering lateral forces. The self-aligning function of this mount automatically returns the scale to its resting position after deflection. Depending on the local situation, the scale has to be equipped with movement limit stops.
